The lecturer at ChinPsy are Nils Volden L.D.

Volden is one of the founders – and foremost pioneers in the field of contemporary Chinese Psychology. He currently works as Professor in Psychology at the University of Chinese Psychology and as Professor in Acupuncture at Instituto de Ciencias Medicas Chinas in Mexico. Formally Volden completed his Postgraduate study at the Norwegian University of Science and Technology, Department of Psychology, and in Chinese medicine at China Academy of Traditional Chinese Medicine. Volden also have post-graduate studies in Acupuncture and oriental medicine at the University in Beijing; his thesis were focused on Chinese psychology.

 

During his studies he practiced Chinese psychology at Beijing Mental University, Department of Mental Health; and An Ding Men Mental Hospital, Mental department in Beijing among others. The China trained Volden is one of few holders of the title “Licentia Docendi Psychologiae Sinae”; Sinopsychologist. Volden is also one of the few foreign members of the World Federation of Acupuncture Societies (WFAS) founding organization China Association of Acupuncture-Moxibustion (CAAM).

Volden has an extensive experience in teaching and transmitting both Chinese psychology and Chinese medicine as lecturer since the beginning of the nineties. He is regarded as both an interesting, enthusiastic and knowledgeable lecturer. Beside lecturing Volden have authored some books on the topic Chinese medical sciences. Today, he is regarded as one of the most important, complex, knowledgeable, challenging persons within his field.

Not everybody like this “new” focus on psychology within Chinese medicine; making some regarding him as controversial or a type of medical rebel. Others regard him as a person that is completing Chinese medicine; back to its roots or simply the medical protagonist. Read some of his articles and you will understand that he like to put new topics on the table (provokative for some).

Beside his professional work Volden also holds a World record in most martial arts takedowns in one minute, he has studied kung fu at the Shaolin temple in China, he is famous for his use of vital points in martial arts, and he is very into organization work within martial arts; President in World Personal Martial Arts Federation and World Acudo Association.
